Sometimes the Redhats
Now here's a group that really knew how to have fun with music, sucesses
and failures.
From 1988 until 1989 the redhats were ... at times:
- Barry Fox, drums, vocals
- Paul Seger, guitar
- Marc Heft, keys
- Dave Strachen drums, vocals
- Arron Vanderpool, bass
- Kelly Hirai, guitar keys
- Simon Sharp, sax
- Marty Koenig, vocals
- Keoora Hoxey, vocals
- Tracy Hankins, violin, vocals
- (who am i forgetting?)
This group had one show at the basement of 214 Bailey St. The rest of
the time and for the most part, this band jammed at Barry, Marc and
Paul's house on Lansing's east side, which is where all of this
material comes from. Skronkish, spazz jazz, quirky, uninhibited, free. They
released in a limited edition of about 15 tapes, a compilation called:
Sometimes The Readhats of which only one copy was actually
sold. The master was stolen. As this project moves along, i will try
to resynthisize it. Oh now i almost forgot, we had a show at Faruk
Gallery very late in the band's course. Thanks Anne.

All of you who were there, don't forget, you can fly. I've been
getting some complaints about people who are not getting enough music
in their lives. [me included] contrast that with people who get so
much of it there sick of it. [accidemic music] These days i cherished,
so make some more! kelly. khirai_at_ongaku.isa-geek.net
